K6JE remote base operating in Watsonville - 23 Aug
|
To help overcome the problems getting into the K6JE 2-meter repeater from the Aromas and Watsonville areas, because of the rocks on the hill that make up the actual Fremont Peak park, there is a cross band repeater (remote base) operating in Watsonville at my address on Arthur Road.
The remote base is operating on 440.500 simplex with a PL of 94.8 (encode and decode) The remote base is transmitting into K6JE on 145.470 using high power from a good antenna location, allowing us to overcome the rock problem, and which causes W6EKR the multi path distortion issues from his home QTH.
